The People Behind SMSF Benchmarks

The People Behind SMSF Benchmarks

DSC_7563-2Nick Shugg BSc, Dip SM, Dip FP,

Nick Shugg is the founder and CEO of SMSF Benchmarks.

He worked as a financial adviser for over 20 years, and has been helping people with Self-Managed Funds since 1994, making him one of the more experienced SMSF specialists in the industry today.

It was this experience which led Nick to realise that there is a gap in the range of services currently available for Self-Managed Funds, in the area of high quality and timely SMSF performance benchmarking.

As Managing Director of Money Managers PFA, Nick was instrumental in growing the business to become a successful mid-size planning organization, before merging with other non-aligned firms in 2008 to form Shadforth Financial Group (SFG).

SFG listed on the Australian Stock exchange, and in 2014 became part of the IOOF Group.

Nick was on the FPA Board Policy and Regulations committee until 2013, helping the industry deal with the introduction of many legislative changes, including the FOFA legislation.
